Thanks for trying.  Updated flare to 4.30.517 and trying to install hotfix emc261645-01.01.5.002-fleet64_free.ndu. Frumon 7.85

It is failing on first rule (No Incompatible Operations) and refers to this solution.

The following is a Primus(R) eServer solution:

    Domain: EMC1

    Solution Class: 3.X Compatibility

Goal       ETA emc268114: CLARiiON: Disk drive firmware upgrade on a CLARiiON CX4 Series array running FLARE Release 30.512 may fail.

    Fact       EMC Technical Advisory (ETA)

    Fact       Product: CLARiiON CX4 Series

Fact       EMC Firmware: FLARE Release 30 Patch 512

Fact       EMC SW: Online Disk Firmware Upgrade (ODFU)

Fact         Disk drive firmware updates using ODFU

    Fact       Disk drive part numbers: 005048847, 005048848, 005048849, 005049120, 005049118, 005049119, 005048950, 005049156, 005048951, 005049158, 005048952, 005049160, 005049117, 005049115, 005049116, 005048954, 005049164, 005048955, 005049166, 005048953, 005049162, 005048751, 005048842, 005048836, 005048837

    Symptom

A disk drive firmware upgrade for the above disk drives on a CLARiiON CX4 array running Release 30.512 may fail. The array event log will contain entries like the following:

A       04/17/11 02:36:47 NaviCimom  79508026 Command: K10SystemAdmin DBid 11 Op 0; Exception: FW Size inconsistant; @ K10SystemAdmin.cpp:8777 A       04/17/11 02:37:43    4600 'firmware' called by ' Navi User emc' (10.250.25.38) with result: Failed (Navisphere CLI command: ' firmware c:\temp\navisphere\SEA_005048849_HC08ODFU-01.01.1.001-fleet64_free.ndu -d 0_0_5 -np -o '. Error: firmware command failed Error returned from Agent   This indicates that the firmware upgrade file could be damaged.

Symptom     Soft SCSI errors are being logged for bus0 enc0 dsk0 while a firmware upgrade is being initiated for it.   A       04/17/11 02:39:31 Bus0 Enc0 Dsk0        7b4 FRU is marked for probation.             0    0        0

Cause      This a software issue affecting the Online Disk Firmware Upgrade (ODFU) utility, but it only affects ODFU and FLARE Release 30.512. Previous and later revisions of ODFU and FLARE software do not have this problem.

Fix        Upgrade to FLARE Release 04.30.000.5.517 or a Type 3 patch for FLARE Release 30.512 is available to resolve this issue. Please contact your local service organization for the availability of the Type 3 patch.
