I've been hearing the terms, 'platform 1', 'platform 2', and 'platform 3' being tossed around recently. A Google search didn't turn up anything so I did some digging. Platform's 1 through 3 are shorthand for technological paradigm shifts and here they are broken out:

|2||Client-server and virtualized x86 traditional application era|
|3||Big Data era with new applications and new workloads built for cloud, social, and mobile|
Now we can search those on those platform types .
