Data Protection Advisor (DPA): User time zone does not stay once set. Reports show as UTC time instead of user selected time zone.

Issue:

 

 

When running reports manually the time period displayed in the top right of the report output appears to be incorrect when compared to the time zone the set for the user.  The time period in the report appears to be set to UTC time and editing the time zone for the user in the GUI under Administrator>Users and Security>Edit User Properties section does not change the time zone used in the report.                                                           

 

 

Cause:

 

 

This is a known Bug/Defect in Data Protection Advisor.                                                           

 

 

Resolution:

 

 

Resolved in Data Protection Advisor 18.2.0 patch b75 and above version.   
    Resolved in Data Protection Advisor 19.1.0 patch b61 and above version.   
   
    The Patch is available through Dell EMC Technical Support.   
   
    Workaround   
   
    If upgrading to a version which includes the fix for this issue the following workaround is available:   
   
    1. From the Run Reports tab click on the Gear Icon in the top right of the screen.

    2. In the View User Properties box that will pop up, select the Preferences tab and set the user's Timezone.

    3. Click the OK button to save the changes. This will set the user timezone and it will remain even after log out.
