ViPR Controller stores a representation of the VPLEX StorageView, this is known as an ExportMask.
The ExportMask contains the VPLEX Storage Ports that are present in the VPLEX Storage View.
ViPR Controller validates the Storage Ports in the ExportMask to confirm that they are associated to the same VPLEX as where the volume that is being unexported exists.
Each StoragePort has to have the following properties in the ViPR Controller DB:
     1) compatibilityStatus = COMPATIBLE
     2) registrationStatus = REGISTERED
     3) discoveryStatus = VISIBLE
     4) storageDevice = <VPLEX serial number>
The order fails as one or more of the VPLEX Storage Ports in the ExportMask does not match the above criteria.
Note: the above properties are visible when viewing the Storage Ports via the ViPR Controller GUI.
