Issue:

 

 

When trying to export a volume to a host, the following error appears:   
        

      The number of volumes is approaching or exceeding the limit(6000). System performance may be degraded. You may create new volumes in another project.[ERROR]   Error 16000: Message: An error occurred executing operation addVolumes. Caused by: A general error occurred that is not covered by a more specific error code. (com.emc.cmp.osls.se.osl.Masking.StorMaskSessionEnd():537 C:ERROR_CLASS_SOFTWARE F:ERROR_FAMILY_FAILED R:1000070 L:2 C:ERROR_CLASS_SOFTWARE F:ERROR_FAMILY_FAILED R:1000070 Attempt to add a device to the specified group failed : 2 : 4515 : "Failed to add device to requested storage group").  This may be due to a connectivity issue with the provider.  See previous errors in controllersvc.log for more information.    
                                                             

 

 

Cause:

 

 

the vLUNs on the backend storage array maximum count has been reached                                                           

 

 

Resolution:

 

 

clean up the LUNs on the storage array and resubmit the order
