Changing Passwords for Replication Manager

REPLICATION MANAGER:

On UNIX Hosts running the Replication Manager Server software execute the following:
# cd /opt/EMCerm/server/bin

# solsql 'upipe IRDB' ir_solid_user <solid pw>                     <---default password is    admins
update ir_user set password = '';                                        <-- this is two single quotes ('),  not a double quote
commit work;
exit;

On Windows Hosts:

C:> cd C:\Program Files\EMCerm\server\bin

> solsql "NmPipe IRDB"  ir_solid_user  <solid pw>                     <---default password is  admins
update ir_user set password = '';                                               <-- this is two single quotes ('),  not a double quote
commit work;
exit;

NOTE: If they cannot log in using the "solsql" command, it probably means they changed the solid database password during the original installation.  Currently the only way to get the solid password on UNIX is to get the ird_data.dat file (in the server/bin directory) or on Windows get the registry value of

My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EMC\EMC ControlCenter Replication Manager\Server\SolidPassword

and send this information/file to Engineering to decrypt it.  There is no way to reset the solid password.   See OSGsw63191 for more details
