Product:

ViPR Controller,ViPR Controller Controller 3.6 SP2

Issue:

The user is unable to export a volume to a host/cluster.

The following error is seen in the ViPR Controller UI.

Message: Error 22003: Message: Message: Message: Failed to create zones for export group because of: Failed to locate fabric

Cause:

VIPR Controller looks to create a SAN Zone (with 1 initiator and 1 storage port) and finds an existing zone with the same name already exists but with different members and/or a different amount of members).

Change:

Changes to SAN zones were made outside of VIPR Controller.

Resolution:

      Workaround:

      Perform the below steps:

      1. Verify the existing zone configuration on the switch matches that which VIPR-C is reporting.
      2. Confirm that the existing zone configuration is in-correct.
      3. Modify the existing zone to mirror what ViPR Controller is trying to create.

Notes:

      ViPR Controllersvc log

VIPR Controller looks to create a zone called "ZONE_NAME" ( for initiator 20:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 and port 50:00:00:00:00:00:00:00) and finds an existing zone with the same name.

[157055|zoneExportAddVolumes] INFO  NetworkScheduler.java (line 323) Already existing zone ZONE_NAME for initiator 20:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 and port 50:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 will be used.
        [157055|zoneExportAddVolumes] INFO  NetworkScheduler.java (line 284) Placing a zone for initiator 20:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 and port 50:00:00:00:00:00:00:00

When interrogating the Zone Membership, it finds that there are two Initiators and one Storage Port.
This differs from the Zone configuration that VIPR-C is trying to create/re-use and the VIPR-C Order fails.
