Issue:

 

 

   

      Scheduled backup of NetWorker Client fails with this error in Policy Logs.      
     
      "nsr Client is being skipped because its min and max savetimes are not reported"   

                                                             

 

 

Cause:

 

 

Usually occurs after a new install or upgrade of software of NetWorker Client.   
    Can also happen with NetWorker modules installed such as NMM  or without any modules.    
        
    Possible causes include:   

         
  •         DNS issues       
  •      
  •         Hosts file entries incorrect      
  •      
  •         RPC connectivity issues       
  •      
  •         GSS authentication issues and Peer information mismatch ** usually resulting from one of the above /  Client ID issues ** usually resulting from one of the above.      
  •      
  •         Clocks being out of sync (between client and server)     
  •    
        
        
                                                                

 

 

Resolution:

 

 

Check for inconsistencies and correct any of the following:   

         
  •         DNS issues – fix or add entries.       
  •      
  •         Hosts file – add or correct entries.      
  •      
  •         RPC connectivity issues – check services are running , check any firewalls that NetWorker ports are not blocked.      
  •      
  •         GSS authentication issues and Peer information mismatch ** correct any of the above and delete old NSR peer information.     
  •      
  •         Client ID issues ** correct any of the above.  Contact Support if you suspect you have Client ID issues.      
  •      
  •         Clocks out of sync – make sure clocks between client and server are in sync.
