Issue:

Pool expansion may become stuck at Unity OE 4.2.1.9535982 or 4.2.0.9392909.

Cause:

  •         A pool expansion job is created by User.
  •
  •         The task is sent by upper layer to MCR (Multi Core Raid), which is creating underlying private structures.
  •
  •         MCR persists object in database.
  •
  •         However, in some cases, due to complexity of the task, code may consider operation to be timed out, and report a failure to upper layer.
  •

Change:

  •         User is expanding disk pool with additional disks.
  •
  •         The process is not progressing for a long time (i.e. days) and seems to be stuck.
  •

Resolution:

  •         This issue has been addressed in Unity OE 4.2.2.9632250.
  •
  •         Please upgrade to this release if you plan to expand disk pool.
