ViPR Controller: Ingestion of 50 or more volumes in a single Order to a single Export Group can cause multiple Export Groups to be created in ViPR Controller

Issue:

 

 

The user is able to ingest volumes successfully but the 51 st volume of an order for the same Export Group will ingest into a second Export Group.   
   
    There are no errors, but the portalsvc_ logs show that the Ingestion was broken into smaller batches:

Cause:

 

 

ViPR Controller is using a batch size of 50 volumes causing additional Export Groups to be created.                                                           

 

 

Change:

Resolution:

 

 

   

      Workaround:     
      Ingest less than 50 volumes per order.

      If intervention from EMC technical support personnel is required. Support personnel must access your storage system to fix this issue. Contact the EMC Customer Support Center or your service representative for technical assistance and quote this article ID.     
      Include the ViPR Controller Order History text, diagutils output, and logs covering the time frame when you contact EMC for technical assistance.     
     
Resolution:     
      ViPR Engineering is currently addressing this problem, but has not provided a fix in a released patch. This solution will be updated with the patch when it has been released.
