Issue:

What are the ports used by Unisphere for VMAX version 7.6 and version 8?

Resolution:

The ports used by Unisphere for VMAX version 7.6 are:

      User-added image

Refer to page 63 of the Symmetrix Security Configuration Guide 7.6

The ports used by Unisphere for VMAX version 8.0 are:
      User-added image

Refer to page 86 of the VMAX Security Configuration Guide Version 8

    Note:

  •         Port 5480 :: is required if you are using a Unisphere for VMAX vApp Manager.
  •
  •         Unisphere 8.0 moved from a MySQL database to PostgreSQL, so the ports are slightly different.
  •

Notes:

To test if a port is listening use the command:

      # netstat -anbo

This will show you the port number, state (that is, LISTENING) and PID of the process using that port. For example:

        TCP    0.0.0.0:2707           0.0.0.0:0              LISTENING       4464
            [storsrvd.exe]
              TCP    0.0.0.0:3389           0.0.0.0:0              LISTENING       2520
              TermService
            [svchost.exe]
              TCP    0.0.0.0:3741           0.0.0.0:0              LISTENING       1248
            [dpaagent.exe]
              TCP    0.0.0.0:3916           0.0.0.0:0              LISTENING       1836

If any other third party or Dell EMC applications are using any of the Unisphere for VMAX ports, then they will need to be disabled or moved to another host. For example, Data Protection Advisor uses port 9999 (refer to knowledge article 482188).
