VxRail: Failure during 4.x upgrade pre-check

Environment:

Description:

There could have multiple scenarios that caused this error message, please refer to Solution section for possible issue and corresponding solution.

 

Resolution:

The internal service errors for the offline upload operation failure could be one of the following:

  • One of the ESXi hosts license does not support DRS feature.

Possible solution: Most likely you have hosts with standard license. To resolve this issue, identify those hosts with standard license and upgrade the license to enterprise level or above. Another option is first to migrate the workloads and execute the upgrade by bypassing the upgrade precheck.

  • The DRS feature is disabled on the cluster.

Possible solution: The upgrade operation can only take place on a cluster with DRS feature enabled. Please enable the DRS feature on the cluster and try again.

  • The vCenter Server Appliance has at least one unresolved critical alarms.

Possible Solution: Please go into the VSphere client and resolve all critical alarm on the target vCenter Server Appliance.

  •   One of the ESXi hosts has at least one unresolved critical alarms.

Possible Solution: Please go into the vSphere client and resolve all critical alarm on every ESXi host in the target cluster.
