Enterprise Hybrid Cloud: How To Clear Entries In REST-API Database On Avamar Server?

Environment:

EHC 4.0
Avamar 7.3
REST-API was incorrectly setup so we need to clear our the REST-API database so that we can set it up correctly.
When trying to import the Avamar domain we get the following errors:

Resolution:

Since the REST-API service does not clear entries that were already present in the REST-API postgres database causing the error to log.

Remove the PostgreSQL DB to clear all the Rest API configuration. Reinstall Avamar REST API rpm package to clear all the Rest API configuration. Rerun Avamar REST API key components configuration. Perform the below steps to Clear Entries In REST-API Database On Avamar:

  1. Log in to a secure shell (SSH) session on the target computer by typing the command format that is correct for the type of data protection server software.
  2. Type the following command to switch to root: su-
  3. Type the following RPM query command: rpm -qa | grep rest-api
  4. Type the following RPM erase command:
  5. Switch the active user to the Avamar admin account by typing the following command: su admin -
  6. Type the PostgreSQL command.
  7. Type the following PostgreSQL command: pg_ctl restart -D FULL_PATH_OF_DATA_DIRECTORY -m i
  8. Type the following PostgreSQL command:dropdb -Uadmin -p5558 rest-api
  9. Reinstall the REST-API RPM, this will recreate the REST-API database
  10. Then setup according to Backup Components Configuration Guide for MS Apps BaaS (EHC 4.0).pdf
