DataDomain: How to reset a password in Data Domain with an admin account available

Environment:

Data Domain

Description:

This document describes how to reset a DataDomain user password with no downtime required, by using an admin role account available

Resolution:

A DataDomain administrator may have the need to change a user's password. Only users with an "admin" role may change other users' passwords. For a list of users and roles on a DataDomain, you may run the following command from the CLI:

# user show list
If there is a need to change some DD user password, there is a valid and working DD user with "role" admin available. In this case, by logging in as that user (typically "sysadmin") the administrator can change the other user's password easily from the CLI, by running the command:

# user change password [<user>]
