DPA: How to test and send a report to one email address
Running the Estimated Protected Backup Capacity report in DPA shows the protected size of data for a backup server, but when comparing this to the data on the backup server the DPA report has a much smaller size that the backup server is reporting.
Data Collection stopped working and reports were coming with "No results found" after customer applied Windows patches on DPA app server and datastore.
When running the DPA 'Backup VMs Not Backed Up' report against Avamar the report returned "No results found" despite the fact that Avamar was configured to backing up many of the VMs in the environment.
Note that maintenance jobs are created from the backup server instead of backup clients. Due to this it is not possible to create Event Based alert for maintenance jobs. Instead Scheduled rule type will need to be used which is based on the output of a report.
Data Protection Advisor DPA Avamar Job monitor collection request times out on large busy Avamar grids. The agent timeout has been increased to 12 hours within the dpaagent_config.xml but this does not assist.
This custom report started taking a much longer time to run than it had before. It used to complete in few minutes and now takes 22-23 hours scoped to a parent group of 20 backup servers. As per customer nothing has changed in the configuration of the report.
A custom report using Backup Server Mapping data source does not provide information on all VMware backup clients which can be backed up via a NetWorker server
