How to replace a failed drive in ScaleIO Environment?

 

"scli --query_sds --sds_ip XX.XX.XX.XX" gave the following output:

Resolution:

Following are the steps in case the SDS have Linux/Windows OS:-

 

  1. Identify the disk: SSH to Linux SDS and run 'fdisk -l', drive letter in case of Windows
  2. Remove the device from SDS by running 'remove_sds_device'
  3. Wait for Rebuild/Rebalance to finish
  4. Replace the faulty device
  5. Identify the device
  6. Add the devise using 'add_sds_device'
  7. Once the device is added to the storage pool, it will automatically initiate realance
