This document contains a step by step procedure to assist with issues around high space utilisation or a lack of available capacity on Data Domain Restorers (DDRs)
Initially determine whether active tier clean needs to be run, then check for large amounts of replication lag against source replication contexts.Check for mtrees which are no longer required, and old/superfluous mtree snapshots. Also, check for an unexpected number of old files on the system, backups which include a large number of small files, lower than expected de-duplication ratio. Check whether the system is a source for collection replication and whether data movement is being regularly run, then add additional storage to the active tier. The following solution offers a step by step account of how the troubleshooting process should be implemented.
