Resolution

EMC Engineering has addressed this issue. The Technical Support dial-home team has been alerted that this error can be ignored in the context of a standby power supply (SPS) test. Error codes 740a, 7402, or 7409 can all be ignored in the context of SPS tests in FLARE Release 26 through Release 30.  A customer's dial-home template can be modified so that these three error codes do not dial home.  No additional risk is incurred by configuring these three codes not to dial home as there are other event codes that report the same condition.

The CLARalert v6.26.5 and later call-home templates do not connect-home for these events so this should be used for monitoring all CLARiiON arrays running Release 26 and later. You should always use the template that comes with an array - matching the version of the template to the version of flare running.

If an older Release 26.2 template is being used (in the case where a CX3 was upgraded to a CX4), when upgrading Flare 30 to patch 512, these alerts will be generated as the new flare versions are generating the event codes and the older template is monitoring for these codes and will generate an alert. In this case, remove the older template and generate a new Release 30 template using the Wizard in Unisphere. The new templates from patch 512 and later do not monitor for these events.

The version of template used can be found in the spcollects in /NAVI/SPx_NAVICIMON.XML:
