Description:

Requirements to enable write caching on CLARiiON CX3-10, CX3-20 and CX3-40 storage systems

Resolution:

The CLARiiON CX3-10, CX3-20, and CX3-40 series storage systems have the following requirements that must be met before write cache can be enabled:

  • CX3-20
  • CX3-20c
  • CX3-20f
  • CX3-40

The following hardware must be fully functional for write cache to be enabled.

  • Five disks minimum, installed in slots 0 through 4 of Bus 0, Enclosure 0.
  • Two out of two DAE power supplies (Bus 0, Enclosure 0)
  • Two storage processors.

  2. Expand the domain.
  3. Right-click the desired storage system and select properties.
  4. From the Memory tab, allocate the desired amount of memory to write cache. Click Apply.
