How to use Unisphere to configure network setting for Celerra Data Mover

Follow these steps to configure with Unisphere the logical interface, NIS and  DNS and NTP server, and default gateway for a Data Mover. These steps are  important because only if done correctly can a NFS and CIFS share can be successfully be made available to clients.

 

1.   Configure physical interface speed/duplex , create Logical interface  with parameters (IP address, mask) for Data Mover.

 

a.  In Top navigation bar , click “system” -> select “Network” -> Select  “devices” tab.

b.  Right-click device name “cge0” for server2 , select  “Properties,” set Physical device cge0’s Speed and duplex. Then click OK.

c.  Click the “Interface” tab, click “Create,” in pop-up window, select  “server2” and “cge0,”  enter “device name.”  “IP address” and “subnet mask,” and  then click OK.

 

2.  Configure the default gateway for the Data Mover

 

a.  In the Network pane, click “Route” tab, and click “Create.”

b.  Select the Data Mover (for example, server2), and enter destination “0.0.0.0.”

c.  Enter the Gateway‘s IP address

 

 

3. Configure the NIS server for the Data Mover

 

a. Under Network  task pane, click “Manage NIS Setting.”

b. Select the Data Mover name that you want to be set.

c. Enter the “NIS Domain Name.”

d. Enter the “NIS IP Address.”

 

4.  Configure the DNS server for the Data Mover

 

a.  Under Network  task pane, click “Create DNS Domain.”

b.  Select the Data Mover name that you want to set.

c   Enter the “DNS Domain Name.”

d.  Enter the “DNS IP Address.”

 

5.  Configure NTP server for the Data Mover

 

a. In the top navigation bar, click “system” -> select  “Data Mover” -> Select “server2,” right-click, and select “Properties.”

b. In the pop-up window, enter the NTP server IP address.
