There have been several questions recently around how to estimate the progress and time remaining of OneFS Job Engine jobs.

While a OneFS Job Engine job is running, an Active Job Details report is available. This provides contextual information, including elapsed time, current job phase, job progress status, etc.

In this Active Job Details report, progress as a percentage completion and estimated time remaining is also displayed, based on processed block and LIN counts. This is illustrated in the following screenshot, detailing the AutoBalance phase of a MultiScan job:

Since the introduction of Job Engine v2.0 in OneFS 7.1, more detailed and granular job performance information and statistics are available in a job’s report. These new statistics include per job phase CPU and memory utilization (including minimum, minimum, and average), and total read and write IOPS and throughput.
