By Chris Trevitt, General Manager Business Partner Sales, EMC ANZ
Last night, we announced the winners of the 2013 EMC Business Partner Program Awards at an intimate event at Quay Restaurant, in Sydney’s Circular Quay.
It was an honour to host the awards for the first time in my new role as General Manager Business Partner Sales, EMC ANZ, alongside Alister Dias, Vice President and Managing Director, EMC ANZ.
My predecessor Brett Harris has recently been appointed to a new role as leader of EMC’s Canberra operations, opening up the opportunity for me to take-on directing EMC’s channel operations in ANZ. I’m very much looking forward to working closely with our channel partners in this new role.
The awards provided a platform for us to recognise the great achievements of our highest-performing partners in the last financial year. Throughout the evening, we also discussed the opportunities for our partners and customers in the year ahead.
Thank you to those who came along last night and congratulations to the award winners, particularly Ingram Micro for taking out distributor of the year!
The ANZ winners of the 2013 Business Partner Program Awards are:
EMC Distributor of the Year: Ingram Micro
EMC Outstanding Achievement Award - Signature Partner Australia: Dimension Data
EMC Outstanding Achievement Award - Premier Partner Australia: Saxxon IT
EMC Outstanding Achievement Award - Premier Partner New Zealand: Datacom
Specialist Partner of the Year – Unified Storage: Infront
Specialist Partner of the Year – Backup & Recovery: Infront
Specialist Partner of the Year – Isilon: Amcom
We also had the pleasure of showing Greg Ambulos, Senior Vice President, Global Channel Sales at EMC, and Howard Elias, President and Chief Operating Officer, Global Enterprise Services at EMC, what we’re made of down here in ANZ.
Joining us for the dinner, Greg and Howard were very impressed with the caliber and strength of EMC partners being awarded.
Greg said: “I am rapt by the innovative projects and solutions our partners in ANZ are working on with their customers. ANZ is paving the way for the rest of world in terms of virtualisation, which is opening up exciting opportunities for our partners and customers moving towards the software-defined data centre.”
2013 was a hugely successful year for EMC and we are extremely grateful for the contribution our partners made to this success. We made some key changes to our business based on partner feedback in the last year, and deeply value the strategic relationships we continue to develop.
It’s shaping up to be an exciting year and I look forward to working closely with our channel partners to grow our mutual business in 2014.
