VNX 5300 management

Hi all,

I am struggling with an old VNX5300 system with Remotely Anywhere management. I am trying to connect with Unisphere client v1.3.9 I have installed on my laptop but this message appears:

Connection Error

The specified system is not reachable or the certificate on the system could not be validated.

Could I manage this system with Unisphere or only configurable via NAVICLI?

Regards,

Hi,

Thanks for your question. Was it working previously? Is it already configured? This article has some steps to try. https://dell.to/3IBmSkB It could also be a Java compatibility issue.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hi all,

Its a VNX5300 file system. I am confused because management ports of the DPE are on same network than the management port of the CS0 and I have found documentation where DPE has to be connected to datamovers and CS0 ports A and B not to same network than CS0 management port.

As detailed, system is interconnected as shown in this image but I am still not able to connect with Unisphere to CS0 IP management address.

I can ssh but only admits the command /nasmcd/getreason saying slots 2 and 3 are reset.

Another commands like /nas/bin/nas_checkup says "No such file or directory"

Like shown in Solve documentation, DPE ports should be connected directly to datamovers but IP configuration desn't match this information:

CS0 MGMT 10.221.0.75

CS0 PORT A 128.221.252.104

CS0 PORT B 128.221.253.104

DATAMOVER PORT A 128.221.252.50

DATAMOVER PORT B 128.221.253.50

DPE PORT A 10.221.0.73

DPE PORT B 10.221.0.74

DPE SERVICE PORT A 128.221.1.250

DPE SERVICE PORT B 128.221.1.251

Can you bypass all of the networking and connect directly to the service port with a laptop and see if you can connect with unisphere?

I tried but I have only response from RemotelyAnywhere interface, I can also connect via ssh but not Unisphere. I am checking that one of the DPEs is restarting all time so I will send the system to scrap.

Thank you in any case for your support.
